Anil Purohit was born in 1966 in Chapoli, Rajasthan. He was educated in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. He graduated in Agricultural Science, Bhubaneswar, and did his post graduation in Forest Management from Bhopal. Thereafter, he worked for 10 years as Deputy Manager, Corporate Planning in Orissa Forest Development Corporation. Simultaneously, he worked as Guest Faculty at Odisha Agricultural University for 10 years.
In 2002, he moved to Canada with his family, arriving in Toronto. He has been collaborating with the Provincial Government ever since.
During his stay in Canada, he actively involved himself with various literary organizations such as Hindi Writers Guild, Hindi Sahitya Sabha, Vishwa Hindi Sahitya Sansthan, Akhil Vishwa Hindi Samiti. So far, he has published seven books. For the last four years, he is the President of the Hindi Sahitya Sabha of Toronto. He is also a life member International Hindi Association, USA. He has been the co-editor of the quarterly magazine ‘Vishwa’ published by them. For the last four years, he has been the Director of CANOSA, an organization of Odia speaking people in Canada.
He joined RANA in 2014 and was awarded RANA’s “New Member of the Year” in the same year. He has been the co-editor of the RANA magazine. He is commended for his moral character, diligence, and interpersonal abilities.
