Membership of RANA

Our members are the heart of RANA — united by culture, friendship, and a shared commitment to preserving Rajasthani heritage in Canada.

Our Members are our strength. We are proud of our membership who have ample diversity of knowledge, talented skills and incessant commitment to the principles and policies of RANA. As per By-laws of RANA following are details about Membership of RANA:

Eligibility

Membership shall be available to any individual who meets the following criteria (an “Eligible Individual”): (a) is of Rajasthan origin; (b) is aged 18 years or older;

Membership

Subject to the articles, there shall be three classes of members in the Association: (a) Class A (“Life membership”) shall be available to Eligible Individuals under article 2 above who have submitted an application in the prescribed form with the requisite fees. The term shall be for life. Life Members shall be entitled to receive notice of, attend and vote at all meetings of the General Body of the Association as long as they are members in good standing. They shall be entitled to all benefits of membership in the Association. (b) Class B (“Ordinary membership”) shall be available to Eligible Individuals under article 2 above who have submitted an application in the prescribed form with the requisite fees, and whose application has been reviewed by the Board of Directors. The term of Ordinary membership shall be one (1) year, expiring on December 31. Ordinary Members shall be entitled to receive notice of, attend and vote at all meetings of the General Body of the Association as long as they are members in good standing and have paid any applicable dues in full. They shall be entitled to all benefits of membership in the Association. (c) Class C (“Honorary membership”) shall be available to individuals who meet only criteria (a), (b), and (e) of article 2 above, whom the Board of Directors has by its own initiative admitted as a member. Honorary members shall be entitled to notice of and attendance at meetings of the General Body of the Association. They shall not be entitled to vote at meetings of the General Body. They shall be entitled to all benefits of membership in the Association.

Admission of New Members

(a) Any person desiring to be admitted as a member shall apply on the prescribed form. (b) Upon admittance to membership in the Association, the Applicant agrees to comply with the By-Laws, Rules and Regulations of the Association. (c) The Board of Directors reserves the right to reject an application.

Transferring Membership

Membership may only be transferred to the Association.
